    Paul Standish Conference Scholarships

MAMEA is offering six scholarships in this category. These scholarship funds will reimburse costs including registration, accommodations, and travel associated directly with attending the conference. These scholarships cover up to $300 of expenses directly related to participation in the conference and will be issued as a reimbursement after the conference upon submission of valid receipts.

Applicants must have at least 6 months of membership in MAMEA prior to the application or new members who have attended a MAMEA-sponsored state event by the time of the application. Members may not receive a Paul Standish Scholarship in consecutive years.

    Deadline: February 26, 2026

Application requests justification describing the need for the scholarship and explaining how the conference will benefit you and your students/audiences.

  • Expanding Audiences Scholarship

MAMEA is offering one scholarship in this category, intended for the 2026 NMEA Conference, hosted by MAMEA. The purpose of this scholarship is to increase the number of MAMEA members that serve a diverse audience. The intent is to support qualified individuals to share their expertise, experiences and perspectives through active participation in MAMEA annual conferences and through continued participation within the organization.

Candidates for the scholarship should be interested in contributing to and learning from marine and aquatic educators. Candidates cannot be a current or former MAMEA member. Any current MAMEA member may nominate an interested candidate for the scholarship. Self-nominations are also encouraged and welcome.

These scholarship funds will reimburse costs associated with attending the MAMEA annual conference, including registration, accommodations, and travel associated directly with attending the conference. All allowable costs, up to $400, will be reimbursed after the conference upon submission of valid receipts.

    Deadline: February 26, 2026
